About ultra tampons

A tampon is a feminine hygiene product that is inserted into the vagina to absorb menstrual fluid during menstruation. It is usually made of soft material, such as cotton, and comes with an applicator for easier insertion. Tampons are designed to be comfortable, discreet, and effective in managing menstrual flow.

The material of ultra tampons

Ultra tampons are typically made of cotton or a blend of cotton and rayon. Cotton is a natural fiber and it offers several key features that make it a good choice to be the material of organic tampons. Firstly, cotton is known for being soft and comfortable. It has a pleasing touch against the skin, making it ideal to be in contact with the body. Secondly, cotton is breathable, which means that it allows air to circulate through the fabric and prevents stuffiness and infection. And cotton can absorb a significant amount of moisture, which makes it effective to absorb menstrual fluid. What’s more, cotton is generally hypoallergenic and unlikely to cause allergies or irritate sensitive skin. Another important point is that cotton is a natural and renewable resource, making it an environmentally-friendly choice. In addition, organic cotton tampons minimize the content of harmful chemicals and pesticides, making them even more sustainable. Some tampons like CVS ultra tampons also have a polyester or polypropylene cover or string for ease of use. It's important to note that tampons should be made of non-toxic and hypoallergenic materials to ensure the safety and comfort of the user.

The type of ultra tampons

Tampons come in various sizes and absorbencies. There are two main categories of tampons. The first type is applicator tampons. These tampons come with a plastic or cardboard applicator that helps in insertion. There are also tampons with a digital applicator (no tube) or ones with a tube. The second type is non-applicator tampons, which do not have an applicator and are inserted by fingers. According to different absorbencies, tampons can be divided into several types with a range of absorbency levels, such as regular, super, and super plus. The absorption of regular tampons is 6-9 grams, equivalent to about 230mm sanitary pads. Super tampons can absorb medium flow (day or light amount at night), while Super Plus is suitable for night use.

Tips when using ultra tampons

A tampon should never be left in the vagina for more than eight hours, and that’s just the upper limit. The tampon must be changed every four to six hours. Leaving a tampon in for too long can lead to a bacterial infection called toxic shock syndrome (TSS) or other serious health problems. Make sure the absorbency of the tampon fits the heaviness of flow, because if placing the tampon properly, it doesn’t hurt, but the size will cause a sense of discomfort. Pay attention to some preparations like washing hands, trying to relax, and angling the tampon.
